Resident System Interface
Wandering resident monitoring provides peace of mind when
dealing with resident elopement. Residents with the potential for elopement
from the facility or wing wear a special transmitter on the ankle or
wrist. Should the resident exit through the monitored door, an audible
alarm is sounded and staff is immediately notified. Resident elopements
can be monitored and recorded when interfaced with the emergency call
system. The event is processed through the emergency call system computer
and all caregivers receive immediate alarm notification via handheld
radios, cordless phones or pagers. The computer documents the date,
time and location of the elopement and allows staff to view and print
the events. This can be a valuable tool in identifying resident patterns
and accessing their level of care.
